Old man winter seems to know when its tournament Sunday for us as snow came in Saturday night to make the roads slippery and a bit hard to manage for some of our members but the determined found their way to Clover Lanes for what again proved to be a very challenging day of tournament bowling for our members. We want to thank everyone who is helping to make the American Masters Bowlers tour the bowlers choice in tournament bowling as it is meant to be. As we continue to go forward during theses hard economic times for our members we will continue to find ways to give back to our bowlers in every thing that we do. Our High Qualifier this weekend for our 226 scratch division was James DePlanche as he rolled his way to the top with a great 1093 scratch score for five games of qualifying on very challenging lane conditions. Our High Qualifier for our 206 handicap division was Andy Hykal as he posted a great 1163 W/Handicap to lead all bowlers in our handicap division. Craig Nidiffer continued his all out assault on the AMBT record books by earning his way into our finals for our 226 scratch division this weekend. He had to bowl our number one seed in James DePlanche in the championship match as Craig won to earn his fourth AMBT champions title of the tournament season. He continues to be the hottest bowler on tour this season and I know that we have stated it several times this season but he is showing us what determination and great shot making will do for a bowler who is as focused as he is right now. Inspite of very challenging lane conditions Craig is working the lanes and demonstrating great skill as he runs towards claiming the Bowler of the Year title. Craig now has five career champions titles and is only one title short of tieing the single season record of five titles set by Brandon Dale two seasons ago. All eyes are on Craig as we head into the last eight tournaments of the season to see what else he can do to add to his hardware collection. Vince Schulte is still leading in the Bowler of the Year performance points for our 206 Handicap division. Lenny Dunford has vaulted himself into second place in the performance points list with his final four finish this weekend and closed the gap on Vince to serve notice that the Bowler of the Year title will not be claimed without a fight. We still have six other bowlers who are in striking distance of also posting a challenge for the top spot. We have allot of bowling season left so its anyones guess who will end up on top. Our AMBT Radio program will finally have a new and fresh show this week. Our technical issues have been worked out and the new show should be posted by mid-week. We do appreciate the emails and questions that bowlers have been sending to us. If you have have something to say about the American Masters Bowlers tour then we invite you to send us your email. We plan to include some of them in our radio programing each tournament. We always want area bowlers to understand that the American Masters is here to provide area bowlers with tournament bowling as it is meant to be. If you want to earn a tournament title that really means something then AMBT is the place to be. If you are up to the challenge then we invite you to give us a try. *Honor to Our Tournament Champions We want to honor Craig Nidiffer for earning his fifth career AMBT Champions Title for our 226 Scratch Division this weekend and also to Scott Turner Jr. for earning his third career AMBT Champions Title for our 206 Handicap Division. Both bowlers had to manage some very challenging lane conditions and close matches this weekend to earn their titles. *Next Tournament to be held at Continental Lanes The American Masters Bowlers Tour will travel to Continental Lanes on March 1st. with our traditional singles format.
