5-4-09 Volume 4. Issue 17. *Skore Lanes Results *226 Scratch Division Cut Score - Minus - 92 *206 Handicap Division Cut Score: Plus - 26 *Lane Condition: USBC Junior Gold Short - 35ft Length - Medium Oil Volume
We enjoyed another great Sunday of tournament bowling as we traveled to Skore Lanes. The turn out was good for this time of the bowling season and we thank everyone who made the trip to help make this weekend a success. As many of you may not know Janet lost her father on Sunday afternoon due to respiratory failure. We got word just as the final games of match play had ended on Sunday. We want to thank everyone who came by the funeral home on Wednesday and to also thank those who sent their condolences. It has been very much appreciated. We bowled on a Lane condition called the "USBC Junior Gold Short". This 35ft. pattern provided our members with the challenge of playing the lanes from different angles and lines to the pocket. Challenging lanes conditions are what the American Masters Bowlers Tour is all about. You WILL NOT find any easy league play bumper bowling lane conditions here! That is why we always let our new members know that our tournaments and formats will challenge your bowling skills and if you make the commitment to bowl with us regularly you will find yourself becoming a better bowler. If you are up to the challenge then here is where it is at! Our High Qualifiers this weekend for our 226 scratch division was Bob Frink as he rolled his way to the top with a great 1089 scratch score for five games of qualifying on very challenging lane conditions. Our High Qualifier for our 206 handicap division was Larry Gibala as he posted a great 1104 W/Handicap to lead all bowlers in our handicap division. This was both bowlers second High Qualifier awards this season. Craig Nidiffer has about locked up the "Bowler of the Year" honors for our 226 Scratch Division. Bob Frink is in second place and still has the math to post a come back. Bob posted a great tournament performance at Skore Lanes to earn additional bonus points for his effort. With two more tournaments left he still has a chance to challenge Craig for the top honors. Vince Schulte is still leading in the Bowler of the Year performance points for our 206 Handicap division but Brent Keller is making a late push and is now in second place and posting a challenge for the top spot with only two tournaments left there is still time to catch Vince. We always want area bowlers to understand that the American Masters is here to provide area bowlers with tournament bowling as it is meant to be. If you want to earn a tournament title that really means something then AMBT is the place to be. If you are up to the challenge then we invite you to give us a try. The American Masters continues to provide a professional challenge for the amateur bowler. *Honor to Our Tournament Champions We want to honor Bill Stephenson Jr. for earning his first career Champions Title for our 226 Scratch Division this weekend.
