12-21-08 Volume 4. Issue 9. *Taylor Lanes Results *226 Scratch Division Cut Score - Minus <78> *206 Handicap Division Cut Score: Plus +34 *Lane Condition: AMBT Cobra - 39ft Length - Medium Oil Volume
Inspite of the VERY cold and bad weather we had a great turnout as many of our dedicated members made their way to Taylor Lanes for another great tournament event this past Sunday. Road and travel conditions getting to Taylor Lanes were as difficult as the lane conditions that our bowlers had to manage in the tournament today. Our High Qualifier this weekend for our 226 scratch division was Adam Dee as he rolled his way to the top with a great 1061 scratch score on our American Masters designer pattern we call the Cobra. Our High Qualifier for our 206 handicap division was Steve Oliver. Steve is back on tour and picking up where his left off by showing us that great and consistant shotmaking will win the day in beating the lanes. We enjoyed some great bowling today in both divisions during match play as we had some down to the last frame finishes. One of our most exciting matches was between Vito Orlando and Christine Kokenos in the semi-finals of our 206 handicap division. This was a match that went down to the last frames before Vito could claim the victory. Craig Nidiffer continued his assault on the AMBT record books by earning his way into the final four of match play for our 226 scratch division this weekend. He continues to be the hottest bowler on tour this season and its amazing to watch him each tournament because he finds a way to score NO MATTER what the lane conditions are. Craig continues to post a big lead in his quest for becoming Bowler of the Year in our 226 Scratch Division. With only half of the tournament season left we are wondering if anyone can challenge him? Vince Schulte is still leading in Bowler of the Year performance points for our 206 Handicap division. The top six bowler in that division are within one great tournament of challenging him for the top spot. As we approach the half way point in the tournament season there is still allot of bowling to be done before we know who will earn the bowler of the year title. Vince is our current reigning bowler of the year and he tells me that he has his sights set on earning another consecutive title. But I think there are several others bowlers who also have their goals set and are ready to challenge him for the crown. Our AMBT Radio program will have a new and fresh show this week. We are working to make this a regular part of our website programs after each tournament event. I invite everyone to check back on Sunday as the new show should be ready and posted by then. We also appreciate the emails and questions that bowlers have been sending to us. If you have have something to say about the American Masters Bowlers tour then we invite you to send us your email. We plan to include some of them in our radio programing each tournament. We always want area bowlers to understand that the American Masters is here to provide area bowlers with tournament bowling as it is meant to be. If you want to earn a tournament title that really means something then AMBT is the place to be. If you are up to the challenge then we invite you to give us a try. *Honor to Our Tournament Champions We want to honor Michael Calvin for earning his first career AMBT Champions Title for our 226 Scratch Division this weekend and also to Vito Orlandofor earning his second career AMBT Champions Title for our 206 Handicap Division. Both bowlers had to manage some very challenging lane conditions and close matches this weekend to earn their titles. *Next Tournament to be held at Sunny Brook Lanes - Triple Points Event The American Masters Bowlers Tour will travel to Sunny Brook Lanes on January 4th. with our traditional singles format.
